When was the last time your weekend brimmed with energy, excitement and loads of fun? For us, it was October 4-7. We had the privilege of transforming the front entryway of the Birmingham Botanical Gardens into a beautiful oasis of plants and popping color for their Antiques at the Gardens show. From purple Salvia to Green Giant Arborvitae, our display highlighted each division of the company as show and garden attendees strolled through.

Since this was a first-time feat, preparation began months before as design after design was sketched out and tweaked. Our crews installed the finished plan in three days before scattering bundles of pine straw to give a “planted” appearance. The design included a Cedar and Douglas Fir arbor, Pennsylvania Bluestone patio and fifteen different plants – some of which formed a live green wall.

Throughout the weekend, we also had the privilege of partnering with Restoration Academy in honor of our 20th anniversary. For every picture taken, we would give one plant to RA for the landscaping of their upcoming facility expansion. We look forward to seeing this initiative reach completion next summer and appreciate everyone’s participation.

This labor of love is not one we’ll forget anytime soon. Though we doubt another weekend as lively and energizing will arise for a while, we’re glad some look more like watching football and taking afternoon naps.
